Singing the Garage Sale Blues...

Despite the title of this post, our garage sale went really well. It was busy and hectic - but the benefits are worth the time and effort. Park City has city-wide garage sales twice a year - in the Spring and Fall - and we usually participate in the Spring sale. Since it is city-wide there are a lot of people from Wichita and the surrounding areas that attend, making it easier to sell things.

Brad's mom came up from Oklahoma to help watch Kyra, since Brad had to work Friday. Desirae ran the sale while Kyra and her Grammie played and enjoyed having time together. It was sunny, but breezy enough to keep the bugs away and temperature comfortable (at least in the shade!) :) Our next door neighbors, some other friends and Brad's mom all brought items to sell at the sale, which helped bring in more traffic.

Our goal - which we reached, YAY - was to make enough so that we could buy a new computer armoire for the office. That way all of the computer/electronics can be closed up behind doors and we can make the space into a play room for Kyra, or a guest room when we have company. We will post up pictures once the room is finished.

Kyra had a lot of fun with Grammie's undivided attention! They played in the sandbox, ran around the back yard, went for walks, and had meals together. Kyra enjoyed getting a bath from Grammie, and also loved getting her hair done and having lotion put on her each day. She loves getting her "pretty clippies" put in her hair, and asks for them often now. :)

Brad's mom and I did get to go out and look at the sales on Saturday afternoon, while Brad watched the garage sale and Kyra took a nap. We did not find too many treasures... but did get a few pairs of shoes for Kyra and a little tricycle. We hoped to find a little kitchen play set, but there were not any at the sales we found. We will have to keep an eye on Craigslist. Kyra has a lot of dishes, and I think she would love to have a little play kitchen to put them in!

I did post up a few new pictures below - enjoy!
