Grammie and Pawpa bought Kyra a new toy to play with in the water... a Slip 'N' Slide! Kyra was skeptical at first - she was not too sure about the water sprinkling in her face - but I'm sure after a few tries she will learn to love it. Her favorite part was stomping in the mud - but as you can see from the pictures she held the skirt of her swimsuit up so it would not get dirty - such a little lady!
We set it up today for her and Josiah to play in, and I think it helped being able to see another kid playing on it. She tried to walk on it a few times, but found out it was really slippery! :) She had more fun taking toys and dropping them in the puddle at the end of the slide - from the back where she would not get too wet.
While we were in Oklahoma we went down to the lake - and it rained. That means the last three times we have gone camping or near the water it has rained... so Brad said it seems whenever we get close to water it rains! I wonder if Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma need any rain at the Ozarks... If they do we'll have to come down for a visit! :)
We took Kyra for a check-up at the doctor last week, she is doing great and definitely ahead on all her milestones. She is now 31 inches tall and weighs just over 21 pounds. She is in the 25th percentile for height and between the 15 and 25th for weight. Kyra likes her doctor - but remembered that the last time she was there she got a shot - so she was not sure at first if she would let me put her down on the bed. Kyra warmed up to the doctor again though when she let Kyra hold the otoscope and use it to look in mommy's ears. :) The doctor asked to see Kyra walk... I put Kyra down on the floor and she marched and spun around and around... clearly she has good motor skills! I think the doctor had forgotten that Kyra started walking at 9 months... she has been walking and running well for awhile. :)
