It has been a busy couple of months since we last posted!
Christmas was really fun this year, as Kyra enjoyed the excitement of family and presents so much more now that she is a little older. She loved to pull the bows off of the boxes and put them on her head! :) We opened our gifts from Great-grandpa and Great-grandma Roths and from Grandpa and Grandma Roths a day early since we wouldn't be home on Christmas day - but Kyra did not seem to mind at all. :) She loved the jeans that light up when you walk! She is starting to enjoy her V-Smile more (which is kind of like a computer game for babies that can be hooked to the TV) thanks to new tapes from Grandpa and Grandma.
We went to Oklahoma on Christmas eve and had a Christmas lunch at Aunt Connie and Uncle Virgil's house. Kyra followed after the older cousins and watched them play - all too soon she'll be joining in! Christmas Day was spent with Grammie and Papaw at their home in Enid. The pink rocking horse was one of her favorite toys - it is hard to believe she's big enough now to get on and off of it herself. (And Daddy and Mommy haven't become too tired of the song it plays... yet...) :) She also loves her toy vacuum cleaner - it gets used more than Mommy and Daddy's! hahaha
It is amazing how much Kyra is learning! The other day we were playing in her room and she looked up at the ceiling, pointed and said "Flowah". She has flowers and butterflies hanging from her ceiling and she finally knew the word for them! She also just learned to say "Siah" - for Josiah the little boy who lives next door. If you ask if Josiah is her friend she says "mm-hmm!" :) She still loves to spin and dance - we call her a little River-dancer because she will stomp her feet really fast when she dances. Kyra is a book-worm, and would spend hours being read to if we had the time. She even likes to sit by herself and look at her books too. Her favorite word is "buh, buh!" with her hands held together - which is Kyra-speak for "Book!".
Some less happy news - on January 14th Brad was laid off from Pratt Industries, where he had worked for almost 11 years. The economy is even effecting the cardboard box industry. This was the fifth lay off in four years, since the company was bought out by Pratt, and Brad had survived the first four! He is enjoying the extra time he has to spend with Kyra - but is keeping busy looking for a new job.
Desirae is working a few hours a week in the church nursery, and she enjoys holding all of the tiny babies and remembering how small Kyra once was!
