The Holiday Season is upon us - keeping our family very busy, as I'm sure it has yours!
We spent the weekend before Thanksgiving with Brad's parents in Enid, Oklahoma. Kyra had a great time visiting her Grammie and Papaw, and especially enjoyed getting tastes of caramel apple pie! What are grandparent's for but to spoil their grandchildren? :)
Thanksgiving weekend we spent with Kyra's GREAT Grandpa and Grandma at the lake of the Ozarks. Kyra learned what "pretties" are - and not to touch them! We were glad she learned the lesson there - it made it much easier when we came home and put up our own Christmas tree! Kyra has only tried to touch it once or twice, and as soon as we say, "Kyra that's a pretty", she stops. Our trip was a relaxing time with lots of wonderful food and fun games. It was exciting to see Kyra eat her first "Thanksgiving" foods. She was not too fond of turkey, but loved cranberry sauce, baked macaroni and cheese, rolls and of course, pumpkin pie! It was neat to see Kyra play with some of the toys Desirae played with when she was little - like the little toy piano and the stuffed toy dog we used to call Rowdy. Kyra also learned to climb up and down the stairs a little bit... but she still preferred walking down them to sliding down on her tummy.
Kyra has learned another new "trick" - spinning around! She will stand in the middle of the room and spin until she gets so dizzy she falls over laughing. :) She is also cutting several new teeth, including two molars on top. She now has six on top and four on the bottom. Makes chewing much easier I'm sure!
Christmas is coming up quickly, and we look forward to heading down to Enid Christmas Day to spend some time with Papaw Non and Grammie Tricia. We wish we could be heading to Bend to see Grandpa Jim and Grandma Donna too!! This will be Kyra's second Christmas, but she will be able to interact so much more this year. I know it will be a blast to watch her open her presents! We will be sure to get it all on video!
I have put up some pictures from Thanksgiving below - enjoy!
