Kyra Loves The Spring!

It has been so much fun to let Kyra play outside as the weather gets warmer. She really likes to "dig-dig" - which means she holds her little shovel and pokes at the dirt... she has not learned that sometimes it is okay to get dirty. :) Hopefully as she is able to spend more time outside she will be less timid and really play in the dirt or sand.

On Saint Patrick's Day, Kyra and I joined several other moms and their children for a picnic at a local park. It was a lot of fun, we had sandwiches and ate green foods (green pudding, green jello and green drinks). One of the moms brought the story of Saint Patrick and read it to the children while they ate. Afterwards the kids played in the sand and on the play structure. Kyra loved going down the slides. She still does not love the swings though. (See pictures below!)

February 22nd Kyra was dedicated at West Evangelical Free Church. Her Grandpa Jim and Grandma Donna, as well as her Great-Great-Aunt Sister Tarcisia were able to attend. It was a special time where we committed as parents to raise Kyra as best we can to know the Lord. Kyra did not like the bright lights on the stage, and I am sure the audience thought it was cute when she started to say "Uh-oh, Uh-oh!" pointing to a water bottle that someone had in the front row that had fallen over. :)

The next week Kyra and Desirae travelled with Jim and Donna to the Lake of the Ozarks to visit with Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma. Poor Brad was left home by himself for the week as he had to work. It was a fun time watching Kyra play in the leaves, playing with her grandparents and great-grandparents, and even spending a little time in the hot tub!

Brad was able to find a job, and is now working at Midwestern Research and Supply in Wichita. They are a company that sells seasonings, spices, equipment and supplies to companies and individuals that pack and prepare meat - from your average hunter to your large meat processing plants. Desirae is still looking for ways to work from home, and has recently been bidding on projects at a site called Elance.com. It is a website that brings potential employers and employees together for small projects - from administrative assistant and data entry jobs, to article writing and graphic design. She has not had much success yet, but hopes to be awarded some jobs soon.

We are all doing well and are loving watching Kyra grow from little baby into running toddler! Make sure to scroll down to the two new picture slideshows below!
