It is hard to believe that Kyra is nine months old! She is growing up so fast! Since the reunion, she has learned to pull herself up easily to the footstool (which has storage and is also used as a toy box) and has learned that if she lets go she can get down too (which is much better than pulling herself up and crying when she couldn't figure out how to get down.) :) She is not crawling yet, but she will pull herself forward onto her stomach and then roll if she wants to get somewhere. She can also "cruise" - once she is standing up at the couch or footstool she can walk around it holding on for support. We are not sure if she is going to walk or crawl first!
She says four words that we can recognize, Daddy and Mama of course, then she also says "hi" and "eye". When she says "eye" she points to your eye (and sometimes pokes it...) :) She likes to hold a remote or toy up to her ear like a phone and say "Hi Daddy!" too. :)
She had her 9 month appointment at the doctor's office today, no shots thankfully, just a check up. She is doing well - and has accomplished all of the milestones on the 9 Month Checklist they had us fill out (it includes things like picking up small objects like cheerios, rolling over more than one time back and forwards, making consonant sounds, etc.) She is now 27 inches long and weighs 16 lbs. 12 oz. This puts her in the 28th percentile for length and the 12th percentile for weight.
It is so exciting to watch her grow from a little baby into a busy little girl - and it happens so fast!
