Our little Kyra is getting so big!
She had her two-month doctor appointment on November 29th and it was time to get all of her shots! I think it was harder on mommy and daddy than it was on Kyra. :) At this appointment we learned that she had grown about 2 inches! She is now 22.5" long and weighs 9 lbs, 9.5 oz. (That's just over a two-pound weight gain since her last appointment at 3 weeks!) She is still in the 50th percentile for height and is now in the 25th percentile for weight.
Thanksgiving was a fun time - Kyra experienced her first road trip! She did really well - sleeping almost the whole way. :) We traveled down to her Grandpa Non and Grandma Pam's in Longdale, OK. There she got to meet lots of family while her mommy and daddy pigged out on ham, turkey and all the fixin's. :) Kyra got to experience something else new that weekend - her first snow! We'll have to get her a snowsuit so she can enjoy it more the next time it snows.
November 26th mommy had to go back to work, so Kyra had her first day next door with Tracy. She is really enjoying her time there - as you can see from the video at the bottom of the page. She was sitting in a Kick 'n Play bouncer that was lighting up and playing music as she kicked.
Last Tuesday Kyra was online with Grandpa Jim and Grandma Donna! She got to talk to them and see them with webcam! It is amazing how much technology lets us feel close even when we are far apart.
This last week has been a big one for Kyra developmentally. On Wednesday she discovered her hands and squealed as she looked at them. On Thursday she said the letter "m" for the first time, and on Friday she said "gah"! She is finally learning to say more than vowel sounds - although she still loves to talk on and on with a long Aaaaeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiooouuuu!
Today was an especially exciting day - Kyra LAUGHED for the first time! She was playing with mommy and daddy and all of a sudden she let out a loud giggle! She laughed twice - but of course she wouldn't do it when we wanted to get it on tape :)
We will get more pictures up soon - but we are going to go put up the Christmas Tree now. :)
